  1. You can get a licence in a few months...it takes a lifetime of learning to be a pilot.

A pilot starts his/her career with a full bucket of luck and an empty bucket of experience, and hopes that the bucket of luck doesn't run out before the bucket of experience is full!

  2. prvate is a few months...

    Major Airline is

    4 year college

    5 years getting required hours.

  3. what type of pilot?

  4. depends on type of pilot and how good you are at flying and understanding the concepts.  you can get your private pilots license in less than a month if you have the time and money

  5. An airplane pilot is a cool job :)

  6. The shortest time I have heard of for Private Pilot--Airplane is 3 weeks.

  7. for an RAF pilot flying a tornado takes 4 years of training

  8. for a private pilot, it all depends on how much money and time you have...if you have a lot of money and time, you can finish in a couple of months....it takes a minimum of 40 hours of flight time but the average is between 70 and 80 hours

  9. When the FAA Check Pilot handed me my temporary private certificate after my check ride in 1964, he said, "Well, you got through it.  This is a license to learn.  If you don't learn something new about flying every day, you need to quit.

I still fly, and I still learn something new every day.  So should you.

A more straightforward answer is to say that the Private certificate takes 4 months to 2 years, the Commercial takes 6 months to 5 years, and reaching the level required to be hired by an airline company takes 5 to 15 years.
