  1. I am a recent graduate of Albany college of Pharmacy and I can inform you that it takes 6 years of college to become a pharmacist. At the end of 6 years, you receieve a Pharm D, doctorate of pharmacy. There was previously a Bachelor of pharmacy 5 year degree, but that has since been eliminated from the curriculum. The curriculum consists of 2 years undergraduate study, followed by 3 years of professional study, and 1 year of professional pharmacy rotations. The rotations consist of 10 5-week rotations at varying sites to become exposed to several different aspects of pharmacy (i.e. clinical, retail, hospital, business).

Of course, you must pass a board exam after you graduate to become licensed. I hope this helps.
