  1. Well assuming you finish your undergrad degree in about 4 years, a masters usually takes about 2 more after that.

  2. It depends. It takes a MINIMUM of two years, but for most people it can take three or four. Psychology is not your run-of-the-mill Masters program. It depends a lot on what school you go into, what you focus on, whether you take summer classes, and your own work ethic. What is more, the Masters degree in Psychology has lost a lot of value over the years. You may find yourself going after that doctoral degree in the end, and then you can slap on another three to five years. But if that is what you like to do, it is a great career and well worth it. Good luck!

  3. have a bachelor's degree;

    complete at least a master's degree in psychology (2-3 years);

    complete an internship if you do counseling;

    pass a licensing exam if you do counseling;

    Some psychologists have just a master's degree. If you are an industrial-organizational psychologist this is the required degree in the field. For most other types of psychologists, a master's degree prepares you to be an assistant, but not the lead research or counselor.

    Clinical and counseling psychology students complete an internship while in school. As an intern, you work with clients and an experienced psychologist supervises your work. Internships last from one to two years depending on the degree you are earning. An internship is usually required to become a licensed psychologist.

    Employers require educational psychologists to have at least a master's degree and have completed a one-year internship. Most industrial/organizational psychologists need a master's degree.

  4. A masters usually takes 2 years after you finish your BA (about 3-4 years)
