  1. Deform?  Glass is chemically inert and super stable.  That's like asking how long does it take for a beach to disappear.  It's all just silicon dioxide.


  2. I was taught that glass is not a solid but a supercooled liquid and so theoretically should flow given time. However the amount of time exceeds your or my lifetime. It would be several millenia so we should recycle it properly.

  3. Glass is estimated to take 1 million years believe it or not.

    But it's glass, it's not like it's killing animals or poisoning people.  We're talking about sand heated until it turns to glass.  I personally don't put it very high on a pollution list.

  5. If you have flowing water mixed with sand not long to abrade any glass! Ever see polished glass from the sea shore!
