  1. the accepted view is 30 years. I do not know if this is based on time required before new generation can be created, although this unlikely as 15-20 years more likely. If based on life expectancy (including lost pregancys) more like 50+ years now and rising.

  2. Depends on your intended meaning.  From birth to fertility is about 12 years, a minimum generation.  From birth to average/preferred birthing age is about 20 years.  This is the most common timeframe often used defining generations.

From birth to empty-nest/second-life (when offspring have left to start their own family cycle) is about 40 years.  From birth to average death is 70 years (this has been standard for a long time and varies up or down depending on environment and activity).

Religious history has two defined terms for generation.  The term generation, when referring to lifespan or population, means 70 years in the Bible.  When referring to a generation of government, or regency, the generation is 40 years.  This can cause confusion for calculating prophesies (for people who do that).  On top of this are interpretations of 120 years based on the lifespans for certain patriarchs.  The maximum biblically allowable lifespan is <1000 years by divine law.

  9. when you have children thats another generation easy as that

  10. 25 years make up one generation but with teenagers having babies more often that could be reduced to 15-20 years.

  11. 25

  12. Its 25

  13. Depends on how you look at it age wise, e.g. lets say for example you study a "generation" of 16-18 year olds, and presume that they would have children of their own within 3 - 6 years, then to study the same age "generation" would be another 16 - 18 years, therefore in this example you would see the "generation gap" as being around 21 - 22 years.

  14. Depending of the country.

In Europe, USA ,Australia , New Zealand  i would say 30 .As for some  Asian countries it can be 14/15 .( As far a giving birth is concerned.) as YAMADORI has just answered

  25. There is actually a really simple calculation to work this out:

If you take the average age of the oldest contestant and subtract the youngest contestant's average age on Bruce Forsyth's Generation Game it will lead to a average genaration gap!

Genius or Madness, not too sure which.

  26. Depends on the time you want to start a family.

  28. That's going to vary according to culture and time frame. There's an article

    35 years -- Y chromosomes (paternally inherited)

    32 years -- autosomes (non-s*x chromosomes)

30 years -- all types combined
