  1. for me u had to dance for at least 3 years but i chose to do pointe/toe   once i got to 5 years but now i just finished my 9 year and im thinking about it

  2. Where i went you could take lyrical anytime as long as you took ballet. I took lyrical my 2nd year of dancing (in 5th grade) and now i love it. It's my favorite type. You should definetly try it!

  3. For me i started with lyrical first. I am a primarily hip-hop dancer but i felt that it's good to be versatile. So if you planing to take a class i recommend both.

  4. Well for me, I started lyrical late. Lyrical isn't as tough as it seems, if you're a strong and dedicated dancer.

I would suggest taking ballet for as little as 1-2 years, then take a recreational lyrical dance. If you feel you are strong in that form of dance, continue taking it.

Remember, lyrical dance requires more emotional feelings to be put into the dance, so only start lyrical if you think you can display emotions through dance performances.

Good luck and I hope this was helpful!!!

  5. You can dance lyrical at any age; however, to do a lovely job ... it does often require ballet technique.  Take ballet classes and dance lyrical... and improve with each day.  Today's efforts might not be as successful as tomorrow's but that doesn't diminish the effort.  Lyrical is about telling a story, emotionally, through movement and music.  Feel it.  You will be just fine.

  6. 2

  7. I started dance in Fourth grade and I just finished 5th grade and I never did ballet I started straight off with lyrical, so I think about 2nd or 3rd grade is your last year of ballet.
