I want to study something with law, but not necesarily be the one in charge of the whole case like a lawyer, the one people will blame if they lose the case.I was thinking of a legal assistant. Is it a good paying job? whats the salary on average? what courses would i have to take in highschool? how many years of college or university is it ?

  1. It depends on the Province. In Ontario paralegals are currently licenced by the Law Society of Upper Canada. www.lsuc.on.ca New paralegals will be required to have two years of college at an approved school, write a test, and work with a paralegal for a specific period of time.

More information can be obtained from the Law Society. If you are from a different province, I suggest you contact the local Law Society. Other resources are the Paralegal Society of Ontario www.paralegalsociety.on.ca or the Paralegal Society of Canada www.pscanada.ca
