How many years of college is required to become a doctor, you know treating people and such?

doctor?!?!?!  well you dont have to do that now to start treating ppl.. u can be a nurse practioner or a physicians assistant.

In the US, four years of college followed by four years of medical school.  In order to practice, you must then complete a residency of at least three years (the first year of any residency is the intern year).  For most specialties, residency is longer, plus there may be fellowship years to follow that.

4 years medical school

4 yrs college, 4 years medical school 2 years internship and then if you wish to specialize in surgery or ob/gyn, etc an additional 2-4 years.  minimum 12 years.
