im egyptian i would like to study and stay in australia so if i will go as student how long should i stay ther to get the nationality . thank you

Have you applied on the course you want to study in? Have you decided on which institution? What level you want to study in?

Currently, on completion of your study in Australia, you can apply for a permanent resident. As a permanent resident, you have almost all the rights of a citizen, except the right to vote on the general election and a few more. After holding a permanent residency for 2yrs, you can then apply for citizenship.

There are changes being done by the Dept. of Immigration (DIMIA) to take place by July this year, so this information may not be true by the time you have completed your study. Check with DIMIA again when you have finished your study.
