  1. If you overstay your visa by more than 28 days, you face an automatic 3 year ban. This ban is applied to all people who have overstayed by more than 28 days, even if they left voluntarily. You may have this ban lifted earlier if you have "compelling circumstances" but having your ban lifted is extremely rare. The ease at how you re-enter Australia will depend on whether you were deported or you voluntarily left Australia before you were detained.

If they left voluntarily and were not detained in an immigration detention centre, then they may enter Australia once their 3 year ban is up. However, if they were caught and detaine in a detention centre, they must pay for the cost that Australia incurs by holding them. If they have not payed off this debt, they may not enter Australia. Once their debt has been paid off and the 3 years have passed they may re-enter Australia.

Upone re-entering Australia you must fill in an immigration form. One of the questions on this form is whther you have been deported from any country or not. If you were deported from Australia, then expect alot of questions when you re-enter.
