  1. All hopes...is to land a man on Mars within the next 25 years or so...any landings on Europa....may happen sooner than that.

As far as ..getting more people interested in science?.....that all depends on the people in question.

    You can't pursuade people who won't listen....that's called..."free will".

What you can do is...just state the case for how important science is....and let people make up their own minds.

  2. man on mars... unlikely.

robot on europa?  it could happen.

    getting people interested in science?

perhaps we could dig up Carl Sagan and "Reanimate" him?

I can see the first TV special on PBS:

"We are all Star Stuff... BRAINS!"

-and then he eats the co-host.

  3. We need better technology and we need to get the space program out of the government.  The government does not have the money nor can the government afford the people who can do it.  Privatization of the space program would help tremendously.  Why work for the government, when an aerospace firm can pay you twice as much?  So they do not have the brightest and best working there.

Children are not taught much science in the US public schools.  Have you seen the people here on Yahoo Answers?  They apparently don't teach basic spelling in schools either.  We need to get rid of public schools, which will never happen.

As far fetched as it might be, I think aliens finally coming to our planet might get people off their rears to care about science and space travel.
