  1. yes.there are 6 zones indoor court i tihink that it's 8 for beach

  2. While 'zones' are somewhat rigid in indoor volleyball because it keeps players in a given position (serving order and front/back row status), it is much much more open in beach.

High level beach volleyball, is almost always 2 v 2 -- this is the only format recognized by the Olympics.  Apart from the restriction that servers must change each side out, there are no positions on the court.  You would only use 'zones' or 'positions' in communication with your teammates.  Generally, your position would be 'left side' or 'right side'.  Communication with your partner generally involves which side to serve, and how you will approach blocking.  (Blocking line vs. blocking cross vs not blocking).

    I hope this helps.

  3. It depends.

    Indoor is usually 6.

Beach volleyball is anywhere from 2-6 players. Never more than 6 though (I don't think).

We play 4 on 4 on my Beach volleyball League.
