I have a 2GB ipod [second generation] and it is able to hold 500 songs, but i can only get 270. The rest is taken up by "others". Is there way to clear out the other section to add more songs.

Or is there a program to make the mp3's smaller so there is more room?

  1. The 500 songs that it is saing is not exact! If for exaple evry song you have is 4MB the it whill hold as many as posible!

  2. 178 songs

    25 photos

    3 videos

  3. That means ALL of the other TV shows, movies, games, and everything else downloaded on your ipod so unless you erase those which would be a real waste of money and time by the way you are gonna stay with  270 songs

  4. 160 gb ipod classic (40,000 songs)

    but i got

    165 songs

40 videos (10 movies and 30 tv shows)

  5. well i have an iphone and it does say others.that is basically unecasary things youve synced with your music and stuff. for example contacts, and exc.

  6. The 500 songs is just an estimate, not exact. It depends on the quality of the songs and the length. The "Others" include games, if you have any on your iPod. If you iPod is enabled as a disk, the "Others" includes files stored on the iPod as a disk.
