Question:

How might I be able to delete necessary disk space in order to do back ups?

I have four back up possibilities--all of which are dead ends (Windows XP):

1. "D" drive has hardly any space left from prior backups. I need to delete space, but nothing I've tried will allow me to do so. Please don't simply suggest the typical manner since I've tried it.

2. I have 2 GB online through Norton 360, but there's hardly any space left there. Need to delete, but am not able. Communicating with them is like trying to talk to the president.

3. I have tried to use a DVD on the "E" drive for backing up. EACH DVD IS BRAND NEW! Still, it keeps informing me that there's either no CD in in that drive or I must begin with a new one. Otherwise, the "E" is working properly and it is a DVD writer.

4. I have an exterior hard drive, but can't delete what's on there from a prior backup. Frankly, the back up process here isn't as cut and dried and I believe I simply did a "pick up and drop" selecting all from my files about a year ago. I don't think this is how it's done. Nevertheless, I still would need to delete the old in order to do this again.

I'm asking for someone to PLEASE respond to each problem. Thank you very much. Right now, I don't think I'm able to back up at all!

  1. Download Ccleaner to clean up your drives.  Buy another portable external hard drive - 250 gig.
