How might I pack 2 or 3 boxes to be shipped by sea from the US to Australia?

If you are worried, use a box inside another box for strength and extra protection.

Except for the computer (and of course pictures), you might be better off to buy what you need when you get there.  

You will be surprised at the cost of shipping.

They will ship it by air and give you 50% off the DHL international rates.  

Ocean shipping will charge you all kinds of additional fees like airbill fees, brokerage, port to door transport, etc.  The break-even for ocean is usually around 200lbs.  If it is over 200lbs, then it will be worth it to use an ocean carrier.  Otherwise, Bongo would be your best option.
