  1. It might scan the depths for signs of things not visible to the naked eye. Pretty sure sonar is helpful.

  2. di ko lam ewan ko.

  3. Simply put, sonar is a device that electronically can send an electronic signal out under water and then it can receive the signal after it bounces off an object under water.  It measures the time it sent the signal and the time it receives the echo back, and calculates the distance.  This is used to tell you the depth of the bottom of the ocean, river, etc.  Or as in military use sonar can be used to find submarines.

The development of sonar helped the Allies forces defeat the n**i's in WWII - as the Allied ships could find the U-Boats and better destroy them.

  4. Besides showing the bottom contour and potential underwater targets, a ship at anchor can keep its sonar on to ward off any possible attacks from scuba divers.

  5. The deafening pings will chase away Moby d**k.

  6. Some kind of method. It senses some objects that it can block the ship

  7. A form of sonor is used to determain the depth of the water and lets you know if you are going to run aground.  On a warship it will help you find submarins that are trin to sneak up on you.
