  1. Less educated parents may be less likely to directly play with them, and more likely to sit them in front of the TV which does not help coordination or brain development.

    Also often overlooked is the high prevalance of lead poisoning in low income and especially in juvenile populations.  Poor people live in poorer conditions and older houses, and their kids can easily get lead poisoning leading to stunted cognitive development.

  2. The more you interact with your child, the more effort he will be used to making towards other people.

    Activities...

    Roll a big beach ball back and forth to each other.

    Simply hand various objects to each other, or pile objects on top of each other. Hand your child the objects to be stacked. This will help him get positive reinforcement towards people, as will rolling a ball back and forth.

    Be creative and think simply.
