How might tidal energy effect the enviroment?

  1. well im no scientist but common sense tells me the currents effects our whole ecology. creatures that feed in certain seasons follow the currents. they in turn, effect what we eat and so on. Another reason they're important is beacause our weather (wind specifically) is drammatically effected by the currents. But heat in the form of the sun is a partner as well. All in all, the currents (or tidal energy) when looked at singularly, just seem like waves, but when viewed as a part of our whole world cycle, it's bigger than if not just as big as our atmosphere. Just the fact that we and our Earth are made up of 70% water shows its importance. Peace


  2. Personally, I don't understand why we're not using the tide of the ocean going in and out to make some form of energy. Everything I can see says that it would work. Even if it only provided energy for people living on the coast, it would be a lot cheaper than gasoline!
