  1. This is not necessarily a social science question, but I can see how it would work on that level.

    Genetics is a complicated science of heredity and survival. Only those that are strong enough to reproduce will, in fact, reproduce. The thing is, however, our genetics are not designed to be more attractive for reproduction. Genetics are for the success of the species, which means things like being nice, being faithful, and being caring are all things that genetics will reinforce.

    Height is a physical characteristic, and those will come and go depending on how useful they are. Height is a good indication of development and biological usefulness, so it's likely that it will continue to spread throughout our genes.
