  1. The trees take in carbon dioxide and release oxygen.

    The greenhouse effect is as a result of too much carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, so the more the trees absorb from the atmosphere, the better.


  2. greenhouse effect is largely due to the presence of CO2 in abundance in our atmosphere.  plants need CO2 to undergo cellular respiration and photosynthesis and in turn give off oxygen as one of the products.  in theory, if you plant a tree it will decrease the amount of CO2 present and replace it with oxygen, thus undermining the greenhouse effect
