How much £'s to deck an area 12 feet square?

We are in the UK. and it will need steps up to it as it will be roughly 18" above the patio.

  1. Depends on the base you're using (i.e. concrete supports or sitting on raised slabs) and whether you're doing it yourself.

    However as an example, for a 12 ft square deck yourself you shouldn't be paying any more than £100 - £120 assuming you're doing it yourself.

    Getting a tradesman could treble the price (circa £350) however given the size of the deck it should be within the reach of most DIYers

    You need to set it on a 100mm x 50mm sub frame. I pay £1.40 per metre so this would be £5.04 per deck board.You get 8 boards to the metre so you would need 29 boards = £146.16. Then you will need to cover the cost for the sub frame this is around the same price per metre. You would need about 10 lengths and a couple extra for noggins. This would be about £60.00. If you are concreting the posts in allow for the cost of the posts and concrete I would allow another about another £50. So all in all it should cost you about around £250 - £275.
