How much 8000k hid should cost?

i am thinking about buying some 8000k hid bulbs for my 2000 eclipse, my first question is do i need to buy the conversion kit or can i just buy the bulbs, my second question is if all i need is the bulbs how much will i be looking to spend, i went on ebay and there like 20 bucks at the lowest and on other online sites there 150 bucks

  1. hi, those lights have xenon gas added to them to give off the white light. they are not a HID. this means they will still use the same wattage as the globes you currently have.

    i wouldn't go these globes. i would recommend phillips, i have theses in both my cars and they are fantastic. living in country victoria australia, skippy often decides to jump out in front of you, with theses globes they add an extra 50% more light over standard halogen globes and it makes it much easier to spot the little fellas before they jump out.

    they might cost you a little more, but remember this is your light source at night, without them your stuffed.

    a HID conversion kid is very expensive and also your reflectors in your headlights are not designed for the way a HID globe expels light.

  2. depends on the brand. there's no hid that cost 20 bucks. hid ranges between 175-300.
