  1. Often times, women don't realize their water has broken, and sometimes, braxton-hicks contractions make it seem like you're in labor, when you actually aren't.  If you have a false alarm, medicaid might not pay for the ambulance.

If you have contractions, call a friend/family member to come get you.  By the time the contractions are 5 minutes apart, you need to be at the hospital, or on the way.  Good luck!  Remember, some babies come really fast, so 9-1-1 might be totally appropriate.  Good luck on a fast and easy delivery!

  2. no medicaid wont cover it because its not an emergency. You could seriously probably drive yourself to the hospital. or call a cab

  3. 911 doesn't pick you up, an ambulance does.  911 is a number you dial on the phone.  And yes, you will be charged for an ambulance ride to the hospital.

  4. It would be a way better idea to just call a taxi, as you usually still have a long wait ahead of you after your water breaks.  You don't need an ambulance.

  5. Yes. A medical card will pay for it all. I know that when my husband had to be taken to the hospital by ambulance when he was having a kidney stone attack that ride costed us almost $500 bucks.
