Question:

How much CO2 does a crop field absorb?

I remember reading a question on here about how much CO2 a tree absorbs in it's lifetime (Think it was somewhere in the region of 750kg per 125 year lifecycle) which ended up not being as much as I was made to believe. Biofuels are claimed to be carbon neutral in that for every gram of C02 absorbed by the crop, it is released again through burning of biodiesel or bioethanol. That to me sound like a crop field absorbs more C02 that a tree can. So does anyone know how much CO2 a crop field absorbs? (For sake of argument, we'll say one hectare, or perhaps in metres squared)
