  1. none,cars emit carbon monoxide,not carbon di-oxide.

  2. Think about that for a minute....how accurate can such an estimate really be?

There's no way of knowing how many vehicles are on the world's roads each day.  There's no way of know how well maintained each vehicle is (which drastically affects CO2 emissions per vehicle).  There's no way of knowing what speed everyone is traveling, which we'd need to know, since variations in speed affect efficiency.  We don't know the elevation of every stretch of road in the world (driving uphill reduces gas mileage, downhill increases it).  The list of variables is countless, and each can skew the result in every direction.  We can only assert a minimum and maximum with any certainty.

A very rough estimate would simply figure how much CO2 a gallon of gasoline produces on average (and other fuels, too), get the annual estimate for fuel sold worldwide, then divide by 365 days.  Using averages and estimates to calculate averages and estimates can give results wildly different than real world measurements, but that's how it's done at the IPCC.  If it's good enough for them...they should be canned.

Humans exhale CO2. Should people hold their breath?
