How much HorsePower does this 1987 MR2 deliver??

I heard these tiny cars are pretty fast. Just curious on the HP and any other details... Engine is Twin Cam 16

I checked the link and that particular MR2 has the 4AGE engine. SO about 110 - 114 Hp.

BUT!.... Those MR2's are sweet candidates for engine swaps.

You can bolt in the 3S-GE from the Celica GTS or the 3S-GTE from the Celica GT4 (All-Trac) very very easily.

The 3S-GE has 135 Hp and the 3S-GTE has about 190 Hp.

The fact that it is RWD makes those very popular and rewarding swaps!

they have about 110 hp but are very light. they are still not very fast by today's standards.

the turbo are ranges at 160-170hp

which is the faster one that you must be talking about

they have about 110-120 hp in the states but in europe...there have no air flow meter box just a mass air flow sensor so they get a little bit more power....the small port engines give more hp then the big port engines...small ports are the red tops and the big ports are the blue and black tops...they also have a supercharged engine that gives out 145-170 hp...i used to have a 86 with the red top small port and with a little bit of modification..it was quick...faster then a 300zx tt and a srt4 neon....ran 14.67 on the 1/4 mile with full interior and street tires...all i had was a supra fuel pump...msd kit...lower springs...bigger swaybars...centerforce dual friction clutch...custom short throw shifter...jdm intake manifold ( it has a bigger plenium)...and the supercharger tranny (becuase it has lsd)...
