Now I know it's heavily Portugese it's just that when I visted Brazil a couple of times it seemed that I noticed some of the people their looked of Spanish decent, The African is so obvious of course in others and of course Portugese in the rest, then you have some that look kind of French and then some that have Japanese in them I know of that Sao Paulo has a big Japanese population, I just wanted to know how much Spanish blood is in Brazil?

  1. just a note on the answers above--i am portuguese and i would think any other portface would know that spanish and  portuguese DO NOT look the same.  we look portuguese, they look spanish, and brasilians look brasilian the way that americans look american.

  2. Both the Spanish and Portuguse are of Latin origin. That's why they look like similar.

  3. I'm Portuguese and there's something that i didn't get in you question.....

"a couple of times it seemed that I noticed some of the people their looked of Spanish decent,..."

Please tell me, how can you say the difference between  Portuguese or spanish people, just by the look?

    We look almost the same....

Feel free to ask anything from Portugal

    =)

  4. i am brazilian. there isn't a whole lot of spanish blood unless there was some recent border jumping. there are more people how are of italian, japanese, middle eastern, african, and german decent than spanish. for example, i am portuguese, italian, and albanian

  5. I am brasilian,

I don't know how mut spanish blood there are here in Brasil, but there are some.

I just know one thing, my family is...

here there are a lot of italiansand portugueses of course...

  6. There is an estimated 15 million Brazilians of direct Spanish descent[1]. They are totally integrated into Brazilian society and nowadays most of them only speak Portuguese

  7. Not a lot, a lot of Brazilians have some Portuguse in their blood due to the Portuguese colonizing Brazil.  There also is a large percentage of African Brazilians.  But Portuguese and European Spainish are basically the same as far as looks.
