How much TV do you think children should watch?

My son loves to watch tv. He is 2. He can watch an hour and a half per day if I am needing to get some things done.  TV should not be a babysitter! kids should not be able to watch it all day.  Seems to me that there is not a whole lot of other stimulation from the parents if a child is watching tv all day.

I would say 2-3 hours per day. Turn it off and read to them, make them exercise, and especially homework.

dont let your kids watch tv until the age of 3 because they s***w with their brains but their are some educational dvds and stuff that they could watch...but either way they shouldnt watch a lot...school kids should watch tv until they are done with their homework or chorse and dont let them for too long

a few hours because they can damage their brain and that isn't good for little kids they need a good education read to them to make them happy buy them coloring books and picture books to look at.

as much as they want. no thats probably bad. if it becomes a problem dont let them use anything electronic. but seriously dont be to strict cause they will just get angry at you and stay angry. so. idk its not bad as long as they get out side. i dont know why outside is so important but yeah. lock em' out for a few hours. lol.

Television poisons the minds of children. Children are becoming corrupted by what they view on television. We should raise children the way it was done in the olden days; a lot of playing outside and family activities. Not too many family activities, though, or else the children will want more and more and you will be tired and collapsing. ^_^

my kids dont really like tv. they would rather play because they only watch tv for about an hour anyways.

sometimes they like to watch movies together and thats fine.

i would say 1 or 2 hrs is PLENTY.

or maybe they could earn it. sometimes my oldest [who is 4] will do his chores to earn 1 hr of tv  time or 1 movie. but if he doesnt then he only gets like 30 mins.

hard to say really. if your kids arent used to it then they would rather be out playing or reading or coloring instead of sitting in front of a tv.

good god. as much as they want! let them be kids. because one day they will have to work and not have time to enjoy that stuff.

I just took my son in for his check-up and his doctor said no more than 2 hours a day. That is about total what my son watches. He never seems to sit through an entire show unless he is sick.
