How much USD should it cost to transfer 4 adults from the Barcelona Int'l Airport to a downtown hotel?

I am being quoted USD$186.00 one way which seems wildly expensive. A cab cannot cost this much can it?

Well the bus to the city centre costs $5 each.

A taxi will cost more but, depending on the time (rush hour) and where your hotel is, will not cost more than $40, and should be a lot less.

Remember that the taxis do not accept US$ only Euros..
