  1. I'm not sure but I worked there while in college.  Later my neighbor was a driver for UPS and he was always coming home and gutting the grass.  I always thought that was odd.  Could be why their rates are what they are.

  2. I dont know the rate as of today, but i know when i left them around 2004 it was 23 dollars and some change an hour!

  3. 14

  4. 14 or 16 dollars to about 18 or 20 dollars an hour.

  5. WOW...I don't know where you people get your numbers, but there way off... I've been working there for almost 6 years and been driving for little over 2. These are the wage progressions from the 2002 contract which I'm under.

    30 day qualifying period :$14.70

    1st year: $15.75

    2nd year: $16.80

    then for 6 months: $18.90

After the 2.5 years above you go to the current top rate, right now its $28.28/hour.

The new contract which takes effect August 1, 2008 will change the progression to as follows.

    Qualifying period: $16.10

    1st year:$17.25

    2nd year:$18.45

    3rd year:$20.75

    After 3 years-top rate

The look on peoples face is priceless when they find out how much drivers are paid. Its even funnier that they think its an easy job! Trust me you EARN that money. You work lots of overtime as well, so your yearly earnings will average about $70,000+. I pay nothing for full benefits, and get lots of paid vacation. After 15 years you get 6 weeks paid. I get 3 weeks already. Oh...and I still have a pension that UPS just invested 6.1 billion dollars into so it will be there for me. $14 an hour.....I made that working part-time after 3 years and still had full benefits that I didn't pay for as Part-time!! Oh...my prescriptions are covered 100% as well.
