In the U.S. waiters are exempt from minimum wage so their base pay is low. Waitstaff can expect to earn the majority of their pay from tips. A tip can vary from less than a dollar in a coffee shop to over $100 for a single table in a high end restaurant. An average night's tip in a normal restaurant (Appleby's, Olive Garden, Outback, etc) is usually between $50 to $100 for a six hour shift.

I am assuming you mean waiter.  Waiters in the UK make more than U.S. or Canada.  In Canada for a regular restaurant, expect $70 for a 10 hour work day, and maybe $30 in tips.  For a higher end restaurant, I would say $120 for the day, plus $60 in tips.
