Safe Fish You Can Eat During Pregnancy: Canned Light Tuna

Albacore tuna is higher in mercury than light tuna, so if you are into tuna salad sandwiches or you enjoy adding some tuna to your salad, consider replacing your albacore tuna with light tuna. Tuna sandwiches are a great food that can be prepared quickly and eaten on the run or packed for lunch.

  2. Well when I first found out I was prego (just last year) the docs gave me a whole folder of things that were FDA approved for pregnant women. Tuna, shrimp, and any shellfish are safe. Its the big fish like salmon and such you have to watch for. I ate like 3 cans of tuna a week when I was pregnant and my baby is very healthy. Hope this helps.

  3. You should be having none. Two servings per week of light tuna only.

  4. I used to eat it weekly.  you supposed to stay away from white meat tuna though because it contains to much mercury.  My doctor said it was fine to eat so long as I didn't eat it more than once a week and if I could stand it to eat light chunk tuna in water or oil instead of the albacore tuna. if not only once a week and no more than one can.
