I curious of how much alcohol it takes to get me drunk.

I'm a girl, 18, weigh about 135, am 5'9, and never drink

Before people start lecturing me about drinking I just want to know because i'm curious and am leaving for college in the fall. I'd rather know and be prepared just in case.

  1. It all depends on you. No one can tell you for a fact how much you can drnk before you get drunk. There needs to be a limit of self control, when you feel yourslef getting light headed and dizzy you should then be able to make the decision to slow down and move onto something with less alcohol, or call it a night and drink it off with water.

I was 18 when I started to drink. I started of on smirnoff-soemthing that was fruity, ligth but still gets me to the ultimate "high". I would drink about 2 and was tipsy. At 4 I was just about drunk. That also included a couple shots of vodka. And I'm 120 and 4'11.

  2. Pretty convinced I've answered this exact question before (or at least seen it), but still, an 18 year old, weighing 135 at 5'9", not a drinker should be able to handle about two units before feeling tipsy, four before being drunk, and pretty much certainly should not exceed six. However, you find that if you eat a large meal before, you can drink more before feeling drunk (and vice versa). My advice is to work out your limits carefully with people you trust before going to college, and getting yourself into a situation where you go over your limits with people you don't know and trust. If you're not legally allowed to drink, then I take that advice back ;o)

  3. Thats a question that you cant answer. Id start off light, maybe a few beers and see how you feel. Dont pound them down or it will hit you hard. Just take your time.

  4. If you want to drink for the high then I suggest a bottle of champagne. If you're not used to drink then about half the bottle should sort you out. Have fun... xx

  5. It depends on how your system relates to the alcohol!

  6. *Legally* you'd be drunk after 1-2 drinks (BAC of .05 or higher), meaning don't drive a car or anything because if you are stopped, you're in a heap of trouble.

Feeling drunk will vary depending on what you are drinking and how quickly. You could drink a single beer over the course of an hour and not even feel 'buzzed' at all. If you drank 3 beers in 20 minutes, you could be falling down.

Typically (i.e. it varies from person to person), your body will metabolize about 1 drink's worth of alcohol per hour.

So much of this depends on how your body handles alcohol and how you liver (primarily) processes the alcohol.

  7. I'm not saying this to lecture you, but please wait until you're 21.

Second off, it does not always have to do with size and height. Well,NOTHING to do with height. But sometimes weight. But then even weight don't always matter.

I mean, I know a female 5'3", thin, and could put away a six pack of beer, and I, also female, will have killed myself before the 6th beer. In fact, I'd be flat on my bottom drunk if I had two beers today. Why? Because the one person drinks quite often, and myself, well, I rarely drink. Maybe once every several weeks to some months. I am also 5'3", but also 170 pounds ( most of my weight is in the mid-section)

So it REALLY has to do with how often you drink really. But often times, a guy can generally out drink a female. Females get drunk faster. What reasons, I forgot. But then, you don't want to have a habit of drinking a lot since it will eventually do harm to your health if nothing else.
