We're traveling to Paris in a few weeks and in the interest of saving some hard earned money we were hoping to take a bottle or ten(lol) of alchol with from SA (duty free is a dream). Is that allowed and if so how much can we take without offending the authorities?

  1. You obviously have not travelled to France before.  One does not buy duty free when going to France from SA.  As wine is the cost of fizzy pop and cheaper and other alcohol is cheaper at the Aldi supermarket.

Silly person - it is cheaper to buy it in France!

  2. One bottle of beer or ten bottles of spirits..

  3. Do not fall into the "duty free" trap, sure it's duty free but it isn't 'PROFIT' free you can by alcohol cheaper in nearly every country in Europe cheaper than in the 'duty free'. Profit on 'duty free' goods are five times that on 'duty paid' a big, big rip off.

France is a wonderful place for the alcoholics amongst us having the cheapest wine and beer in Europe.

  4. i think you are only allowed the duty free  as you are from SA  Check on a website
