Question:

How much allowance should i get?

Ok, I'm in eight grade, and i am 12, and i live in PA

my parents say im too young for allowance and when i ask them if they could pay me for chores they say yes, and say they will give me 10 dollars a month, and then i start doing them and at the end of the month they say what are you talking about i never said i would pay you for them

  1. I am a parent, I have 6 kids and I would never do that to any of them. I think that its selfish of your parents to say one thing and do another. If you had an agreement they should stick by it. If I was you I would make out a contract for your parents to sign with the amount they agree to pay you and the chores that are to be done in order for you to get that amount of money. Tell them that you are old enough to learn responsibility and that they need to allow you to learn and stop hindering your learning. There are many children younger than you who get allowances as long as they do there chores and I don't see why your parents wouldn't want to give you one if they can afford it.  


  2. i was 11 i got 2 dollar allowance a day, then when i was 12 i think it was  3 a day from monday-friday, meaning 15 dollars a week
