I have to disagree with the previous poster. I just checked on Air Canada. The airfare from Vancouver to JFK (direct flight) in late October is around $300.00, depending on the day he flies.

ABout 700.00 dollars return via westjet. But keep checking the airlines site, because the prices change quite often, depending on sales, the day you fly etc...
