How much are blue-ray dvd players in wal-mart? cause iam trying to get one?

for what it does the PS3 is the best buy. but do not buy the $399 version. it is very limited as to what it will do. the 80G PS3 is a lot better. and blue ray will eventually replace DVD all new tvs will do high def. look around and you will see that the old picture tube tvs are being phased out everywhere. the PS3 will play blue ray,DVD, DIVX, and mpeg formats. so you can throw just about anything at it and it will play it.

You may get a discontinued or early spec (1.0 or 1.1) for about $350. There are no budget players.

That said, I hope you have researched this and know that Blu-ray is an expensive format that requires a pretty high grade HT system to provide any benefit? It is going to be an alternative to DVD, not a replacement.

Unless you have a 1080p HDTV, 40" or larger I suggest you demo blu-ray to see if you can benefit. And be sure you are prepared to pay more for the bd disks than for DVDs.
