  1. If you are paying $150 or more per month you better be getting at least 5-6 days per week.

Most classes are 90 minutes, but often people stay longer to roll so about 2 hrs is average.

I pay $85 per month for 3 times per week, a single class is $15.

  2. about 90.00 (least) to 200.00 (most) for a non propit organazation. Look for non prophit. It'll be like only 60.00 a mo. The classes can last up to 2 hrs.

  3. mine

    $99=month

    2hour classes ,1 hour fridays

  4. $100 hour and a half beginner classes and 2 hr advance classes everyday and you can work out in the gym whenever its open im in atlanta

  5. 150 per month

1.5 hours three times a week

    location  New York

  6. That depends very much on where you train. In a big city, it is likely to be expensive: e.g., New York, London etc.

Speaking personally, I train in London, and pay £100 a month (so around $200). That gets me tuition from a black belt and 11 potential classes per week (every day except Sunday). The school is headed up by a big name, Roger Gracie, which presumably adds on cost as well, not to mention London isn't a cheap place to rent space.

From what I've heard of comparable schools in the US, like Renzo Gracie's Academy in New York, its a similar situation. For cheaper options, you could either train under a lesser name or lower belt (there are plenty of excellent instructors at purple and brown, even blue, particularly if you're a beginner), or in a smaller town where prices will most likely be lower (as they don't have to shoulder the rental costs of a major city).

Also, some places offer different payment options. For example, Gracie Barra Birmingham here in the UK (Birmingham is another large city) has different prices depending on how many classes you attend per week:  IIRC, its £60 for two a week, £75 for 3, and £90 for unlimited.

Classes where I train are split into beginner (1 hr) and advanced (1.5 hrs), the main difference being that the advanced class does a lot more sparring. As far as I'm aware, from 1 to 2 hours is fairly typical for the average BJJ class. Normally includes a warm-up, technique and drilling, sparring, then a warm-down to finish.

I'd suggest you check out one of the following databases to find a school in your area, look into their schedule and prices, then head down to a class to see what you think:

I'm presuming you're in the US - for the UK, I've built up this map:

Hope that helps, and good luck with your training!

  7. depends where you go, around 100-150 a month is a typical price range...

as stated its usually about an hour to an hour and a half, maybe longer for advanced...
