How much are cigarettes in Upstate NY?

Living in NYC cigarette prices are pretty high. I'm going to be going up to the catskills next month for a family getaway and I was told by a friend cigarette prices are cheaper in NY state than in NY city. Just trying to find out if that is true and how much the price difference is.

The average price of a pack of cigarettes in the state will exceed $7 and in New York City could exceed $10. The tax increase is expected to bring in $265 million dollars a year.
