Guitar lessons for a beginner usually are about $18 for a half hour.  If you go to http://www.guitarleader.com you can download a free eBook on playing guitar.  It will show you the basics and give some GREAT advice about guitar lessons and different methods of learning besides hiring a teacher..  GOOD LUCK

it usually doenst matter what skill level you are at. if you take formal classes at a music center, expect to pay $25-$35 per half hour. some places offer 1 hour lessons that are usually less than twice the price of half hour lessons. Also consiter online lessons which are much cheaper and offer whenever usage.

I have a " How to learn guitar book" and it is really good.  Mine was $20 by Phil Capone.  Its really good I have learned alot from it!
