  1. I'll keep this simple.  $25- $2000 and up.  If your in FS 1 don't get $2000 skates.  Ask your coach what kind you need.  If you can't afford them you can get them on ebay,  I got $400 boots (new, never had a blade mounted) for 50 bucks!

  2. Well, that all depends on the brand and quality of the skates you buy. Go to the pro shop at your local rink and they should be able to help you out. Good luck!

If you want me to go really into detail about the pricing and such, you can email me if you'd like.

  3. well since you dont know. im thinking you are just beginning or just started in the past year.

for you, i'd say skates cost anywhere from $80-$150.

you dont need custom or anything special. and the boot comes attached to the blade.

the more advanced you get, the higher the price gets (of course :P) and the boots and blades come seperately.

  4. Depends what kind of skate you mean. Figure skates [at a good level] are rarely under $1000 with the boot and the blade. At a lower level the boot and blade are sold together, and generally are much cheaper as they are lower quality leather and the blades are pretty basic etc but these are fine for learning to skate.

As for hockey skates I'm not sure, but the pro shop at your rink will be able to give you a good idea of the price and what kind of skate is appropriate for your level!

    Hope this helped =]

  5. well what are you looking for? (please forgive my spelling)

    reidal $200

    sp-ter $300

    klingbiels (custom) $400

    graphs (custom)  $400

jacksons (best to start of with) $200

don't get me started with blades

    phantoms $600

    professionals $200

    freestyle $200

Hun in the skating world everything is expensive. It doesn't matter if your the best, what matters is the money to actually keep you at your best.

Best to go with Jacksons then when you actually know you want to skate get custom. Stick to freestyle and proffesional blades till you can handle a big toe pick

  6. good skates go from 200-400

bad or used skates go from 30-60

  7. It depends on what level you are at

Recreational (w/ blade) can start at $30 and go up to a couple hundred

Beginner (w/ blade) goes from $100 to a few hundred

Intermediate (w/ or wo/ blade) is anywhere from a few hundred to several hundred

Advanced skates are several hundred (wo/ blade)

blades alone can cost the same as boots so a pair of advanced skates can easily go over $1000

  8. Good quality boots start at about $200 - $300 dollars but can go over $1,000. Plus, you need blades which should be sharpened every 6 weeks (which is an additional cost of course).

  9. In the wide range of skates, recreational to competitve, skates can cost anywhere from $25 up to thousands of dollars.  Just like any other sport or activity, the cost for equipment is dependant upon how "into" it or how involved you plan on being.  The type of skate you need is based upon what kind of skating you're doing.  If you plan on skating only recreationally, like skating on a pond or rink a few times a year, you can get the kind of skates they carry at Dunham's  or Sports Authority or one of the chain stores.  They're usually in the $25-$100 range.  Of course there are cheap recreational skates and nicer recreational skates too.  If you plan on taking lessons and going into a specific ice sport, figure, speed, hockey, you're going to need a better skate than what you find at a chain store.  For example, a good skate for beginning figure skating lessons would be a Riedell, one of their ribbon models, which is usually around $100.  Figure skate cost goes up from there the more advanced a skater gets.  Advanced figure skate boots and blades to not come as a set and are chosen individually based on the skater's preference.  A typical stock boot is $500 on average with blades being anywhere from $50 to $600.  If a skater wants customs and extra features, like anything else, that makes the price go up.  With skates more than for recreational purposes, it's best to get professionally fitted because not all brands run true to shoe size.  An experienced shop will be able to fit you for foot for the correct size/width and recommend a good brand and model for your skating level.  Good luck!

  10. Mine we're a little over a thousand, but since your asking this question, I'm going to assume these will be your first pair of skates.

Beginning skates will probably go somewhere between $75-$300. Idk. Check your pro shop for prices. I got my first skates in a $175 deal. I got my skates and like skateguards and soakers, and other stuff.
