and eggplant ur killing baby chickens

  2. A Dollar

  3. I've been spending the last month looking at used bikes on e-bay, which is where my knowledge comes from. If you really want to know what bikes like your are going for, and you're not in a hurry, I suggest watching any similar items for a few weeks. It really gives you an idea of what things are selling for, and what makes a listing successful.

What the bikes are worth largely depends on how old they are. If the technology is within the last 3 or 4 years, the unused Boulder can sell for maybe as much as 60% -80% of its original value if you use e-bay or craigslist in a city with a lot of biking.

A new or excellent condition 10-15 year old mountain bike usually sells for 20-30% of its original value, including shipping. Treks can get as high as 35%, because they have a cult following. Other brands seldom go that high.

A bike with minor visible wear will go for 5%-20% less than a like new bike of the same model. Large patches of visible rust or dents are a serious turnoff, small paint chips are less important.

If you use e-bay, part of getting the best price is convincing people that the bike is really worth the money. Don't leave buyers guessing about condition and components.

Post high resolution pictures of the whole bike and the derailleurs. Pics if other moving parts are also appreciated, but the whole bike + derailleurs are key. Give as much information about the components' brands and models as you can, as well as the age of the bike.

Also, bikes are expensive to ship, so buyers will be counting the shipping cost against the value. If you have a bike worth $100, and shipping costs $50, no one is likely to bid more than $50 for the bike.
