I have a little old junker im shipping, and I have gotten a price for shipping to the port, but they can tell me what other fees or taxes, tariffs are involved. Can someone please help me, to get an idea on price, or perhaps a link to a gov site, where they give you percentages... thanks.

  1. I hope that your "old junker" is really old.  If it's a 1967 or more recent model you cannot import it into the US unless it meets US safety and emissions standards as evidenced by the certification label affixed by the manufacturer.  Otherwise you'll have to post a bond equal to 200% of Customs' estimated value and export it within 1 year.  If you fail to post the bond or if you fail to export the vehicle it is subject to confiscation and destruction.

  2. There is a DMV transfer fee

This page has a calculator that can help you determine the exact fee.

    Good luck!
