  1. Meals you get in a Burger King, McDonalds and at a  KFC will be a little cheaper than what you find in most Western countries.  Wages are lower so the overhead expenses are less.  You will also find some extra rice, chicken and pork meals that you don't find back home in McDonalds restaurants.  Many McDonalds also have free WIFI now.

Restaurant meals depend on where you eat and what you buy.  If you MUST eat in fancy places you may find some restaurants that cost as much as back home!  But, if you eat in small restaurants or other places - such as supermarket restaurants (like Tops and Foodland,) or from food courts in malls your choices are pretty cheap.  You can find a meal from around 45 baht on up to 100 baht.    Street vendor food is pretty cheap.  You can find Western type food available in lots of places. Some hotels have "all you can eat" buffets that are open to walk-ins.

There are modern supermarkets and lots of Seven Eleven type stores all over where you can find snacks, water, beer, canned food and sliced meats for sandwiches.   You won't starve in Thailand.

Big Mac's I understand, as far as woman's make up - my guess is that if it is original - the real stuff - it won't be cheaper than back home!   A woman would be able to tell you more about makeup.

Rough guess is to plan on paying no more than what you would pay in your own town for meals in inexpensive restaurants and fast food places.   Any money left over from your "food" budget can be used on souvenirs and other stuff!

If you stay in expensive hotels (over $50 per night) you might find the meals more expensive than in private restaurants.  I wouldn't use any credit cards in cheap restaurants - use cash - this will cut down of potential CC fraud.

    Good luck.

  2. CDs are 50TB in Phuket at the moment

  3. Big Mac in MBK shopping centre is 120 Baht, in quieter locations they cost 106 baht (or 3 USD)

CDs as allready said are 100 Baht, but DO NOT BUY ANY, they are cheap and crude copies, buy the originals in Laos for about 2 USD (they are imported from China but are originals)

Restaurant meal- well whats average? Average in 5 star hotels could be 50/60 USD a head, in Kho San Road, maybe 5 USD, or on the street from vendors 1 USD for thai green chicken curry and rice

    can't help with foundation

  4. Don't know about foundation. I'm a bloke but you can buy copy DVD's for 100 baht,,Macdonald's ,,, Cheaper than Aust, and I guess any western country, but more expensive than the local tucker. In a shopping mall food court a typical Thai meal 25--30 baht,, Flash restuarant  maybe 120---200. Western meal's are typically more expensive,,, but you can get "American breakfast" for around 100 probably more in Phuket or Kho Sumuii.

If I were you I would just bring a debit card with a Cirrus or other logo on the back which you can use any where. Check with your bank about bank charges. The Thai banks don;t charge for ATM with drawals

  5. Big mac 135 baht ($4)

    Restaurant meal 250 Baht ($7.50)

A CD on the street 100 Baht ($3)

    Foundation similar to U.S.

I think your missing a point here in that Anywhere you go in the world the price of a Big Mac will be similar.  You can get a meal on the street for about a $1 and the cost of a taxi is next to nothing.  You can stay in a great hotel for 1/3 to 1/2 what youd pay in another major city.

  6. Buy your foundation / make up duty free at your airport. At this end it's liable to be fake and made in China. The real stuff is more expensive here. Other stuff is all cheaper apart from electronics. I had one of those big mac meals the other week. It was about 110 baht.
