How much are train tickets?

Hi, just wondering what's the general price of a train ticket. I've searched around online but I can't find anything. I'm not wanting to purchase one myself, just curious as to how much they usually run for.

Amtrak does provide service between Portland, Maine and New York City for about $83--that should give you an idea of their fares.

Train ticket prices are based on distance.  There is no such thing as a general price.

You have to know what station you are starting from and what station you are going to.
