I work in Montana and the wages here seem very low compared to the rest of the country when it comes to technician jobs. I was just wanting some comparison.

  1. Well  I hate outboards and only do shaft drive but in Western Australia it's anywhere between $28 to $35 per hour depending on how desperate the employer is as there is a shortage of decent tradesmen here (I've gone back to working on cars for a lot of money) But don't rush over as there is a chronic lack of places to live as I found out the hard way

  2. I am in south Florida and you would start at about $18-$22 depending on experience.  Just being certified helps but you need some time too. If you do it for your self you can make a lot more, i would image that business is slow during the winter months up there so maybe that's why it is low. What is the pay average up there?

  3. At our marina in Northern New England, our certified MerCruiser guys get $21/Hour.
