We just hit $4.00 a gallon in the Harrisburg, PA area where I get gas.  What ticked me off was that we have a bonus card for the Giant grocery store, which also earns 10 cents off a gallon for every $100 you spend on groceries; well, every other station around this weekend was at $3.89 a gallon, but every stinking Giant gas station was at $3.99.  Like they know people have these gas rewards to use, so they can jack up their prices over everyone else's.

in small town Thomaston Georgia we are now paying $ 4.05 a gallon for regular unleaded  it jumped from $3.89 a gallon last night.

ok today06-09-2008 the price of regular gas just went to $4.10 a gallon.I am so heart sick over this increse it has made definate hardships on my family in the sense that I can no longer afford to take my five year old son to his many doctor's appointments and therapies he so badly needs.To walkis out of the question because the only dr's qulified to deal with his disabilities are all in Atlanta and that is 2 hours drive one way and the trip must be made three times a week. I wonder if the politicians allowing this to go on have enough heart to  face these children with special needs and tell them that what they need is not inportant  but money ,power and greed are ........................

It's 3,78 here in S.C. But it up and down about every other day,  some days up it's up to 3,89 , then it will come down then go right back up. , It's crazy. . but we know soon it will go up and stay up.

Well, I don't know how many litres are in a gallon but, I'm sure you'll do that math for me. In Woodstock, Ontario, Canada we are paying about $ 1.30 per litre.

Ford thinks electric car's time has arrived

        As gasoline prices soar nationwide, Ford Motor Co. is hoping consumers might give serious thought to its latest line of electric vehicles, the TH!NK.

        The world's No.2 automaker earlier this month said the electric vehicles would be available this fall at Ford dealerships in selected markets nationwide, but mainly in California, Arizona and Florida.

        The first TH!NK model to be sold will be the “Neighbor,” Ford spokesman Brendon Prebo said. It's a golf cart-like vehicle equipped with a windshield, seat belts, lights, brake lights and meets government crash-test criteria for low-speed vehicles.

        Neighbor's top speed is just 25 mph, according to Mr. Prebo, and can travel about 30 miles on a charge.

this is the american solution to the problem a golf car.

I paid $3.90, unleaded, at BP in Virginia Beach, Va. I no longer browse for the "cheap" gas, it's useless. Either the station is full with cars waiting, or the drive just isn't worth it, or there flat out isn't anymore.

Ya know, we could all be cruising in electric cars today. The Clinton Administration during the 90's rolled out their electric car program, and got Toyota to jump on board. Unfortunately,  the deal wasn't ready to be implemented until the Bush Administration came into office, and they ordered the destruction of all the Toyota Rav 4 electric cars, amongst others, and forced all who owned any electric cars (in CA mostly) to return them in a particular dealership. If you thought you could get away with it, they would subpeona you to do so...ahhhh....that was almost 10 years ago....look at us now! You don't think they were for oil, do you, EAG?

Now that the demand for electric cars are inevitably high, what will pricing be like....perhaps if we jumped the gun almost 10 years ago, we'd be looking in better shape, but what do I know, I'm just a middle class citizen.

$4.99? I don't even think it's that bad in the city here. Are you buying diesel or something (I should point out mine is unleaded - 87. I'm guessing yours is premium?)
