I've heard that the rates are ridiculous. Yet expensive bikes like Harleys have really cheap insurance.

  1. i ride a 600cc ducati monster and my insurance is an average of £160.00 pounds sterling per year but it really depends on the type of bike you buy for example supersports, sports tourer, cruiser, my bike is a sports tourer and is reasonably cheap supersports are priced out of the park as to many young riders are buying these and cant handle the power.

i reccomend you buy a suzuki bandit 600 its a sports tourer easy to control cheap to insure and has plenty of scope for tuning once your comfortable with your machine...... keep er between the ditches and safe riding.

  2. I had a 00' Kawasaki Ninja zx6r ...liability was $65 a year thru progressive

  3. I can't tell you the cost or range but I can tell you that most insurance companies don't base the insurance cost on how much the bike or car cost, they figure it off a point system. the owners of Harley's probably have a lot less accidents than people who ride a crotchrocket. So the point value of a 600cc would be much greater than of a more expensive Harley. My friend owns a Yamaha R6 and it took him some looking aroudn but he found an insurance company who would give him full for around $89/month.

Another example: I have a Pontiac G5, paid around $15k new. When looking through how much my insurance would be, I found that with the company I used to have my car would cost around $254/month, while a GTO cost almost half. More powerful and expensive car, but the owners of GTOs on average are in fewer accidents than the mostly younger owners of G5s.

  4. like $150 a year , liability only.

  5. Bought a 07 CBR600RR new for $8900 OTD and I'm 38 year old insurance cost $365 with AllState full coverage.

  6. The answer may vary by person. It would be a good idea to hear some of them and try to choose the best one. Here is a good one.http://insurance.online-frees.info/insur...

  7. My girlfriend has her 2008 Suzuki GSX-R 600 full coverage through State Farm and she pays $325 a year.

I have a 2007 Suzuki GSX-R 1000 and I pay $445 a year for full coverage as well through State Farm.

    She is 28 & I am 36.

She has a perfect driving record and mine not so much! LOL I hope it helps.

  8. Totally depends on:

    1. the insurance company you choose. most companies charge rates on the TYPE of bike you get (sportbike vs cruiser). state farm is the only company that charges by engine size only (regardless of type of bike), so a 600cc sportbike can be less than the 1300 and 1800cc cruisers

    2. your age.

    3. your driving record.

I'm 26, perfect driving record (no tickets or accidents) and I pay $27/mo for full coverage on a 2003 CBR600RR with State Farm. I'm getting a discount because I also have my car insurance policy with them.

I have a friend thats 21 with a few tickets on his record, and he was getting quoted $350/mo for a new sportbike.

  9. It all depends on what you select for coverage dude.

If you just get comprehensive (fire, theft) etc. its dirt cheap. ($100-200 a year)

Add on collison, medical payments, etc. play with how big a deductible you want to spend and it can go up to $2000 or more a year.

Depends if you have a bad driving record also, value of the bike, and CC's.
