  1. If youre talking in terms of pressure levels, the reality is that anything over 100db for too long can cause long term damage.  The other reality is that anything over 165db for even a short period will guaranteed make you less likely to hear anything ever again.  Ever wonder why top SPL competitors dont actually sit in the vehicle for testing?  Rumor has it that that amount of force can actually liquefy your skull.  (172+)

    Long story short - without a ton of money youre never gonna hear anything over 155.  By that time, youre gonna realize how much it actually hurts to sit in your car.


  2. If it goes too low, it will be out of our audible range and we will not be able to detect. Same for high pitch sounds as well, if they are too high, we will not hear it.
