  1. you have to clean their cage every week. in the summer, give them only a little bit of wood shavings. in winter, give them extra wood shavings. add some tissue. they rip it up and make a cute little nest.

feed them regular hamster food. or u can feed them nuts. dont give them any watery foods like lettuce, tomato, oranges, etc. becuz they get diarrhea.

    hope this helps!

    good luck!

  2. you need enough bedding to fill the bottom of the cage, and you should clean it every week

  3. About 1/4 to 1/2 in deep with bedding and tissue paper for his bed.  I change weekly

  4. Try a gerbil instead, because they are less likely to bite and if you want to get a friend for it later on gerbils do not eat each other like hamsters do. Hamster are the grossest rodent of all, they will kill each other and are cannibals. Gerbils are sweet and rarely bite. They are also very loving parents where both parents take care of their young by giving them kisses, snuggles, and lots of love.

As for cleaning their cages, they need to be cleaned at least once a week, cause all rodents get very stinky.

  5. make sure the entire botton of cage is covered, a few inches thick. you should clean the cage about once a week depending on how much your hamster poops.

  6. About 2 inches deep, don't use Cedar or Pine though because they can be harmful to your hamster and cause health problems, you should use a recycled paper bedding such as Care Fresh.

  7. they need at least 2-3 inches in the bottom of their cage and you replace it every week when you clean their cage.
